How it all began

Goen South founder and owner Morris Goen spent twelve years as a photojournalist for the San Antonio Express-News, moonlighting in wedding photography. Because wedding photographers are the only professionals present on the big day from start to finish, Morris gained valuable insight into event production. He watched as planners, decorators and other independent contractors stepped on each other’s toes and often got their wires crossed. He came to realize the importance of a unified approach to wedding production and founded Goen South in 1996.
